Easter at NPBC

Easter at NPBC 662

We love Easter at NPBC. Like most people, we love the warm, optimistic feeling you get from the spring season, with its bright flowers and new lambs. We also love the break we get with the public holidays. Then there’s the food! We’re all partial to the odd Easter Egg and hot cross bun. More importantly though, at NPBC, we love Easter because it’s at the heart of what we believe as Christians. Easter provides us with an opportunity to reflect on what Jesus went through, when he died and rose again so that we can live.

Easter week starts on Sunday 29th March and ends on Sunday 5th April and is traditionally known as "Holy Week". It's when we remember Jesus’ last days on earth starting with Palm Sunday (commemorating Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem on a donkey), Maundy Thursday (Christ’s last supper with his disciples and when he washed his disciples’ feet), Good Friday (when Christ was crucified) and Easter Day (when Christ rose from the dead).

At NPBC we find time to remember and celebrate all the important events mentioned above, plus more. We like to find time to join with the other churches in the town for a couple of special events. We also like to find some time for a leisurely "Good Friday Walk".

Below are all the events going on at NPBC over the Easter period and we warmly invite you to join us. Please feel free come along on your own for a time of personal reflection, or with your friends and family for a time of celebration. We will definitely make you feel at home.
