Staff and Leadership


Steve Wood Steve Wood and his wife Natasha have three children - Daniel, Sam and Georgia. They have been members of NPBC for almost 15 years. Having spent his career selling diamonds, marketing whisky and recruiting child sponsors for World Vision, Steve followed God's call in  2017 to train for the ministry. Steve has a passion to help make God as accessible as possible for as many people as possible. He will complete his training in 2020 and, in the meantime, leads our ministry here.



Keith Bedford Keith Bedford heads up our communications team and as such, has responsibility for our publications and website. Keith has retired from work but for 40 years worked in the pharmaceutical industry. Keith is married to Barbara and has two grown up children
Jonathan Longhurst Jonathan Longhurst has been an active member of NPBC for 13 years since he moved back to Milton Keynes from Northampton where he worshiped for 10 years at Duke Street evangelical church. Originally from Woburn Sands, he spent his teens at Netherfield Chapel where age 16 he was baptised along with his two sisters. He then trained at Guys hospital as a dentist, attending St Helens Bishopgate along with many of the Christian union. His career has been mainly NHS practice in Bletchley, Northampton, Kettering and Hull. He has also been involved in dental work in Zambia spending seven summers working with CMML mission hospitals. He is missionary secretary to Christian Dental Fellowship and has been for the last 10 years.
He retired from dentistry in April 2016 at the early age of 45 and was involved in House Group and became a Pastoral Assistant before becoming an Elder in April 2019. He lives happily on his own in Giffard Park and is an active uncle to 4 nieces, the eldest of whom has just finished university.
Dick Parris Dick Parris came to NPBC in 2011 having previously worshipped in Leighton Buzzard. He moved from Bushey to Newport Pagnell in 1968 with his wife and three young children and now lives in Downs Barn.  He and Lin spent seven years living on a canal narrowboat, when he discovered Christ and committed himself to Him. Dick has worked in IT since 1965 and is still an examiner for the British Computer Society. He and Lin have three children, four grandsons and two great-grandchildren. When time permits Dick is a keen railway modeller.



Andy 100 Andy Brown joined the leadership team as a deacon in 2013. He currently has responsibility for our premises, Lovat Hall. Before retiring from full time work, Andy was a Senior Manager with the NHS. Andy is married to Janet and has two grown-up children.
Sarah Hutton Sarah Hutton has been a Christian her whole life, attending Stony Stratford Baptist Church with her family. Sarah and her boys Andrew and David, joined NPBC in November 2005 and got baptised a few years later joining as a member at the same time. Sarah is also part of the DP (data projection) team.
Grace Inwood Grace Inwood along with her husband Barry, has been a member of the Church for over 20 years with a gap in the middle. As a Deacon, her role is the Safeguarding Trustee. Grace worked for Scripture Union for 19 years. Prior to that she was registered as a General Nurse. At present, Grace is Acting Girls Brigade Captain, where she has been an officer for over 5 years. Grace enjoys walking her dog, cycling, photography, sewing and knitting (when she has time!). Her and Barry have two grown up children, one grandson and two step-grandchildren.
Matthew Main Matthew Main along with his wife Jane, have been members of the Church for over 8 years. Together they have 5 children and 1 grandchild, all of whom live in the Milton Keynes area. Employed as a Service Engineer covering a large part of the UK. Matthew enjoys music, often joining in the worship group. He also likes football.
Des Henderson
Des Henderson and family are well known in the local community and have been involved at NPBC since moving to Newport Pagnell six years ago. He is the trustee that oversees the worship teams and currently works in the Automotive Industry. Des enjoys a wide range of music, movies, the arts and great dining.
Sue Richards
Sue Richards and her husband John have been members of NPBC for around 17 years. Sue has a background in teaching and currently teaches Functional Skills English to adults. She also works for the Electoral Service in a number of roles, writes Bible Reflections for the Bible Reading Fellowship and cares for John, and their son Matt, who both have disabilities. In her spare time, Sue leads the Milton Keynes Torch Fellowship for visually impaired people and writes short stories, poetry and articles, some of which have been published.
Sue Winship
Sue Winship and her husband Jonathan have been members of NPBC since moving to Newport Pagnell in 2005. They have two children, one at university and one at Ousedale School. Sue is a Pastoral Assistant and on the organising team for the annual Churches Together Newport Pagnell Holiday Club. Due to having lived in different UK towns and South Africa, Sue enjoys making new people feel welcome so she co-ordinates the Welcome and Hospitality ministry at NPBC. Sue currently teaches A-level Chemistry and looks after Year 13 at an international school in Northampton. She also enjoys singing, reading and travelling.
Mandy Pateman Mandy Pateman has been a member of NPBC for almost 11 years, joining the Church in September 2008, when she felt God was guiding her to join a local Church and take a more active part in the local community. She has lived in Newport Pagnell and the surrounding area for most of her life. Mandy retired a few years ago and is currently enjoying volunteering in the local Willen Hospice shop. She leads the former Carers group at Carers MK which meets monthly. One of Mandy's big passions is supporting and fundraising for the Good News for Romania Charity and has visited the families in the Barlad region of Romania many times seeing the difference GNFR has made in their lives. Mandy was widowed in 2006. She has a stepson and stepdaughter and three grandchildren aged 9, 6 and 3. Mandy always looks forward to their visits and occasional sleepovers in the holidays.


David 100 David Wright MCBI is our Administrator. David looks after our office and tries to keep us all organised. If David doesn't have the answer then we're all in trouble. David also heads up our Boys' Brigade. Originally from Scotland, David made the move south to Newport Pagnell many years ago but still follows Rangers.
Gail 100 Gail-Melissa Frost is our Site Administrative Assistant and is responsible for the smooth running of the building. Gail-Melissa also assists in the office. As the longest serving staff member, having started in 2009, Gail-Melissa likes to make the premises a cheery place. Gail-Melissa loves travelling and supports Liverpool FC.
Tim 100 Tim Pring is our hard working site assistant. He is an important part of Lovat Hall team and works hard to make sure each user group had what they need when they use our busy building.
