A bigger vision requires a bigger, fit for purpose building
Each week, we see an average of 1,200 people come through Lovat Hall.
Many of these come to enjoy activities initiated by the church family; from Sunday worship to Mums & Tots; and from a summer Holiday Club, to the Winter Night Shelter. Many people also come to take part in community and sports groups, ranging from Pre-School to table tennis; and from Blood Donors to meetings of the Fine Art Society.
Our vision is for a new building that will allow even more people from the community to use and enjoy the facilities every week.
Whilst our vision includes the full redevelopment of the existing building, the financial challenges of doing this, have led us to separate the project into 4 distinct phases.
The first phase journey
Assuming that we hit the various fundraising targets along the way, the first phase of the redevelopment will be ready for us to begin using in Spring 2025.
As we progress through the project, we will continue to review and update the timelines in line with the funds raised.
Looking after the existing building
The scale and duration of the project and the costs involved mean that we’ll need to continue making improvements to the existing building whilst we undertake each phase.
In order to fund this, we have allocated £200k of the initial £3.8m that we need to raise for Phase 1, to refurbishing selected parts of the building. Work has already been completed on the main hall and a refurbishment of the ladies’ toilets. Significant improvements are now being planned for the foyer area.
